Necropsy
Students will assist the pathologists as prosectors on full dog and/or cat necropsies during the rotation. Standard dog and cat necropsy procedures will be discussed with the students prior to their first necropsy. Each student will be responsible for drafting a complete and comprehensive necropsy report on each of these necropsy cases.

Useful References: Students will be given the opportunity to work-up pathology cases from the Antech archives, encompassing both common and unusual diseases. Work-ups will consist of a review of the patient signalment and history, examination of gross lesions (where applicable), and the review of the microscopic slides. Numerous pathology references, as well as various powerpoint presentations and online training modules, will be available to the students during work up process. Ultimately the students findings and conclusions will be discussed with the pathologist moderator for that case. The attendance hours vary depending on the day's activies.
